Ronald M. of Ellicott City has had a lot of experience with Coastal
Builders over the last few years while we built three different
projects for him. While we were building all of these various projects
he spoke to us about his fourth “dream project” that he had
envisioned since he had purchased his home, so we were excited when he chose
Coastal Builders to build this project as well. Ronald M. is a world
class violinist who plays with several area symphonies and teaches
advanced string students in his home. He has always wanted an area
specifically designed to accommodate his student recitals and concerts.
Since he had such a clear vision of what his concert hall would look
like, we were able to design and build it to fit all of the furnishings
and artwork that he planned for the space. Starting with a one-story
ranch house we added a second level to include a balcony with tiered
seating overlooking the main concert area. We also created an addition
on the side of and open to this space to display many of the
furnishings as well as to house a spiral hardwood stairway to access
the balcony area. Here is what Ronald M. had to say about the project:
“What I like about Coastal Builders is their willingness to work with
the homeowner to achieve something that is structurally sound and at
the same time is also aesthetically pleasing. My project was dependent
on several factors involving designing a space that was acoustically
good for music, but that also allowed room for furniture and artwork
that had formerly been in storage to be finally be positioned properly
and that created an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for guests to
enjoy concerts and recitals. Coastal Builders admirably achieved these
goals in every way. From the planning stages with Rich Campbell to the
meticulous and thoughtful work by the lead carpenter, Ron Logsdon, and
his crew, Coastal Builders provided quality and value through and
through. Sincerely, Ronald M.”
